I believe your life can become art without becoming performance.

I am Quinn Kavanaugh: a folk herbalist, intuitive, creative director, photographer, teacher and founder of Venusian Folk Herbalism.

My work has always been about self-understanding, beauty and devotion. And it has evolved and expanded over the years. When I was an art student I was taught that my creativity was a commodity and I have spent the rest of my life trying to unravel that subconscious belief. My art practice was the first place I allowed myself to feel like I was enough, even if no one got it or liked it, I was doing it as a reclamation, in devotion, to myself. 

Quinn Medicine is the most personal expression of my work. It is where I offer intuitive sessions, creative direction, portrait work, ritual mentorship, brand world-building and the deeper story behind everything I create.

What I Do

Through Quinn Medicine, I work with artists, entrepreneurs, seekers, healers and sensitive visionaries who are ready to build a life, body of work, brand or creative practice that actually feels like them, honors them and nourishes them.

It is about learning how to make your depth legible, beautiful, embodied and alive.

My Story

I did not come to this work through theory alone.

I came to it through practice.

Through illness. burnout. heartbreak. And through beauty. Through the slow, humbling, deeply sacred process of learning how to listen to myself and trust myself. 

For years, I was trying to become the version of myself I thought would be safe, lovable, impressive and easy to digest. I was deeply creative, intuitive and deeply sensitive but I did not always know how to honor those gifts without abandoning myself.

As a student at the Kansas City Art Institute my studio practice was inspired by my research in astrology, symbolism, alchemy, plants, ritual, photography, branding and the unseen patterns that shape a human life. Since 2015, astrology has been one of my primary languages for understanding timing, archetypes, relationship, and transformation. Folk herbalism became another language. Venusian Wisdom another. 

Healing is not becoming a more polished version of yourself.
Healing is returning to participation with life.

What I Believe

I believe beauty is not frivolous. It is a form of devotion.

I believe the body is not an obstacle to spiritual life. It is the temple.

I believe creativity is not a luxury. It is how the soul understands experience.

I believe plants are not products. They are family, teachers and presences.

I believe intuition is not something some people “have” and others do not. It is a human skill, a listening practice and a way of becoming honest.

I believe liberation is not only political, spiritual or personal. It is also sensory. It lives in the nervous system, in the home, in the work we make, in the relationships we choose, in the way we feed ourselves, adorn ourselves, speak to ourselves and structure our lives.
